Greythorn Football Club

North Balwyn, Victoria

The Greythorn Football Club is located in North Balwyn Victoria, and provides junior players in the local community the opportunity to play competitive Australian rules football.

The club is a member of and competes in the Yarra Junior Football League and plays matches against other teams in Melbourne's eastern suburbs.

The club fields teams in age groups ranging from Under 9 (Tackers) through to Under 17(Colts).

Home matches are played at Greythorn Park and Gordon Barnard Reserve in North Balwyn. Gordon Barnard boasts an excellent playing surface which is amongst the finest in the league.

Our club has a policy of participation and encouragement where all players are given ample opportunity regardless of their ability.

Family involvement is encouraged and parents are urged to make themselves available for match day duties such as goal umpiring and time keeping. Club officials and coaches are normally drawn from our parent group.

The club is bound by a thoroughly workable Constitution and Set of Rules, Code of Conduct and a Religious and Racial Tolerance Policy for its smooth running and for the promotion of our game.

New junior players are always welcome.

Southern Cross Youth Initiative

The Greythorn Football Club is proud to be associated with the Southern Cross Youth Initiative.

The Southern Cross Youth Initiative (SCYI) is designed to provide a one-year residential high school for teens 13 to 17 years old who have had problematic substance abuse

Old Camberwell

Greythorn has a close association with Old Camberwell Grammarians Football Club with whom we share a number of facilities.

The OCG club provides an avenue for our players to continue their football at a senior level when their junior playing days have come to an end.

We believe that we can can offer any junior footballer looking for a home for the 2009 season a really great place to play in a friendly and relaxed atmosphere where players and officials will go out of their way to make any new player feel welcome.
