Coach's Comments
Coaches’ Award – Ben Wise: Ben is a great kid. He trains hard, listens to instructions, loves to learn, supports his team mates, and is a very good footballer to boot. Ben has had a great year and is an absolute pleasure to have in any team. Great year Benj, well done.
Most Improved – Jesse Kane: A tough award to choose with so many improving, but Jess’s determination to improve all year makes him a deserving winner. He improved every part of his game – his tackling was amazing for a small guy, his kicking improved out of sight, he was one of the first players to start following some team rules and thinking while playing, and he was courageous in and under packs of bigger players. Well done Jesse!
3rd Best and Fairest – Nick Kent: Nick had a great year, and especially excelled up forward and in the ruck. With so few tall guys it was very important he got to a lot of contests, which he did. His
second half of the year was a lot more consistent, and a credit to his improved efforts at training. His skills below his knees in wet weather games was also exceptional for a bigger guy. Well played Nicko
Runner-Up Best and Fairest – Will Macafee: Will is a massive Sam Mitchell fan, and put in a Mitchell-like season. He was very consistent, always worked so hard, got plenty of the ball in packs and ran hard to space also. Will improved his marking and kicking a lot during the season and became a very damaging player all over the ground. Good effort Maca.

Best and Fairest – Dion Kapnias: Kappahad an awesome season from start to finish and truly deserves the B&F. Whether forward, back or on-ball, he was skillful, smart and gutsy and did everything required of him. He dominated with marks and goals at certain stages, but was always just as happy to put on a shepherd or lay a crunching tackle. Congrats Dion on not only a great individual year, but on being such a good team player also!
